After a three-year hiatus from music, I felt a growing urgency to create again—mainly sparked by the new administration’s relentless wave of anti-immigrant rhetoric, xenophobia, and racist ideology. Out of that frustration and defiance, the concept for my next project, “The Foolish Parade of Existence,” began to take shape and crystallized.

This 17-song album (with some bonus tracks) is an amalgamation of knowledge and rap to not only mirror our times, but to also serve as a call-to-action during these troubling times of isolation and hopelessness for our communities.

In particular, it’s a blend of contemporary issues, experiences from my personal life, and historical events, figures, and philosophies to emphasize the cyclical and existential aspects of life. For example, a central theme of the album is how trauma reinvents itself and how community and collective power combats it and provides us with the camaraderie, energy, and connection necessary to make strides towards liberation.
